LITHONIA, GA, May 19, 2023 — GAOG, GBJ, and CPC have teamed up to host a forum and reception dedicated to Guyana’s changing landscape. This in-person event, Navigating a Changing Guyana: Pathways to Prosperity in the Era of Oil and Gas, will occur at the AEI Startup Factory on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023, starting at 4.30 p.m.
Over the next two decades, Guyana is poised to receive tens of billions of U.S. dollars from oil and gas revenues, significantly impacting the country’s economic climate. To harness this potential, GBJ and CPC will a series of panels with thought leaders from Guyana and the United States. These panels will facilitate discussions on current opportunities that aim to maximize economic growth in Guyana’s public and private sectors, taking full advantage of this transformative era of oil and gas.
Alongside our leaders, the forum will also feature experts from the energy, education, and diplomacy sectors. This convening includes:
Ivelaw Griffith, former Vice Chancellor at the University of Guyana.
Riyad Insanally, former Ambassador of Guyana to the USA.
Ulric Trotz, Deputy Director & Science Adviser at the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre in Belize.
Stacey Mollison, President and CEO of Libra Management Group.
Oslene Carrington, Chief Executive Officer of The Guyana Economic Development Trust (USA) and The Economic Development Fund (Guyana).
The forum and reception will allow attendees to network with members of the Atlanta Guyanese diaspora to create actionable change. The GAOG, GBJ, and CPC are committed to creating an environment for like-minded individuals to exchange ideas, resources, and skills to foster a connection between the United States and Guyana.
