The Guyana Police Force is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 55 year-old Donna Taylor of Agricola East Bank Demerara. Taylor's body was found last Friday night on her premises with a wound to her throat and her hands tied behind her back.

A woman has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigation in what appears to be a robbery and murder.

Previous media reports stated that the husband of the deceased, Bertram Taylor, a security guard, went home at about 11:50 pm and found a family visitor Samantha Sabat injured and unconscious in the yard, and his almost lifeless wife upstairs in the house.

The two women were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation around 1:00 am Saturday where Taylor was pronounced dead on arrival. Sabat was treated for injuries to her head and a broken right arm.

Taylor’s body is at the Lyken Funeral Parlour awaiting post mortem examination.
