The staff of Guyana Graphic wishes Mr. Vibert Parvatan a Happy 80th Birhtday.
Mr. Parvatan, retired Executive Director of the Laparkan Group of Companies in Guyana also served as a Minister of Government (Technocrat) and non-elected Member of Parliament during the structural adjustment period for six (6) years – 1986 to 1992.
He also spent 1965 to 1978 as a senior manager in the sugar industry at Diamond and Uitvulgt estates and from 1978 to 1986 at GNTC (Guyana National Trading Corporation).
He also served as a Board Member with several Organizations including Chairman of the St. John Association of Guyana.
Over the past three decades, he hosted numerous Country and Western music programs on radio (Voice of Guyana) and for over a decade has been a weekly columnist in the Catholic Standard of Guyana and a social commentator on TV – CNS 6 with his Viewpoints.
We wish him continued health during his retirement, and thank him for his contribution to Guyana and all Guyanese.
