Leslie Arlington Dennis Grant, PE (June 21, 1942 – May 10, 2011)

Leslie Arlington Dennis Grant (Leslie Grant) was born on June 21, 1942 in New Amsterdam, Berbice, Guyana. He was the second of six children born to the late William and Harriet Grant of Mackenzie, Demerara River.

Leslie passed away peacefully at his home in Gaithersburg, Maryland on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.

He was the loving husband of Linnet (née Luke); brother of Doreen Marshall, Desiree Sloane, Daphne Telford, Gertrude Glasgow, William, Edmond, Lennox and Leyland Grant.

Family and friends will be received at the Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904, on Friday, May 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, May 21, there will be a viewing at 10 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 1700 Powder Mill Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20903, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Entombment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Lions Vision Research Foundation, Inc., Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, PO Box 1714, Baltimore, MD 21203, or to Kidney Cancer Research, Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, 100 N. Charles St., Suite 234, Baltimore, MD 21201.
